The ten questions
- Do you have a written list of the AI systems in use?
- Does each AI system have a named owner?
- Have you assessed the risk each system creates?
- Do you know what personal data enters each system?
- Do you know where that data is stored and processed?
- Is there a written acceptable use policy for staff?
- Is there an approved tools list?
- Do high-risk uses have human review built in?
- Is there an incident reporting route for AI failures?
- Could you produce all of this within one working day?
Fewer than seven affirmative answers usually indicates that responding to a client AI questionnaire would take considerable internal time.
